A distinction is made between direct methods in which seasonal indices of extremes are
downscaled and indirect methods in which daily time series are generated and the seasonal
indices then calculated from these.

Precipitation related indices of extremes : pq90 90th percentile of rainday amounts (mm/day),
px5d Greatest 5-day total rainfall, pint Simple daily intensity (rain per rainday),
